How to Sell Your Home
Start Outside
The better your house looks from the curb, the higher your re-sale value will be. Make a great first impression.
- Make sure your yard is as inviting as it can be
- Trim back bushes and trees, especially if they block views and make your home difficult to see from the street
- Keep your lawn mowed, preferably in a diagonal pattern
- Yellow sells – plant yellow flowers or strategically place potted yellow flowers by your walkways or the front door
- Wash your home’s exterior walls, windows, and light fixtures
- Paint or replace the front door and trim, garage doors, and mailbox
- Power spray your house clean away the dirt and cobwebs
- Buy a new welcome mat for the front steps
Staging
- Remove excessive clutter both inside and out
- Get rid of extra furniture. Store it or sell it. With less furniture your rooms will seem much larger than they would with a lot of clutter and furniture
